How To Make Your First $100,000

Ok, so you wanna make $100k. Awesome! You probably want to quit your day job or make some really nice retirement bonus money. You're in the right place. We've made $100k about 5 times between our different businesses. You're going to hate me for saying this, but making $100k is hard work. Everyone else on YouTube is making it look easy so they can get views, but the fact is that $100k is where you have to put in some sweat. We believe that you make your first $1k on accident, $10k with some encouragement, but $100k takes a little work. You've just gotta repeat what's been working to earn you $10k. The easiest way to do this is to multiply how many people you talk to in a week by 10. Your product is good engouh, your shop capacity and process doesn't really matter because we can always raise our prices if we max-out how many things we can make in a week. Talking to more people is the biggest bottleneck Makers have. So if you've been using our 'casual close' to talk to people, great! Let's use what we learned there to scale, or GROW our output with a little extra work in a smarter way. How many new people have you been talking to each week about your business? 5? Ok, let's make that 50 a week now. I know that sounds like a big scary number, but that's why I say it takes work. Call, Email, Text, Post on Facebook, Attend social events. Do whatever you need to do to hit that number each week. More contacts = more sales. It's very simple, but it takes a little bit of work. If you've make $10k, you should have a little money you can spend on boosting a facebook post that did really well among your friends. You don't have to become a content creator, but if you make a few posts every now and again and one does really well organically, click the 'promote' button on instagram and run an ad for a few days! The biggest tactical thing other than talking to more people is to keep your business money separate. Even opening a personal checking account and calling it your 'business account' is fine! Sometimes opening business accounts with a bank is tough, but you're not breaking any laws or anything - you're just staying organized for your CPA come tax season. Oh. Don't do taxes yourself. $300 to an accountant is a STEAL for tax services as a small business owner. You're supposed to be running a business, not counting beans for uncle sam.
